"I started boxing at the Immaculata ABC at the age of 9 and was trained by Nugget Nugent, who still trains me as a professional today. The first few years were all about learning the game and by the time I reached 14 I won my first irish national title. From that moment I really improved and stayed undefeated in Ireland for 6 years.

Throughout these years I won numerous titles, including seven national titles ranging from youth right through to senior level.

My first national title is probably still my greatest personnal achievement in boxing. The feeling of being the best boxer in the country at my weight gave me a real buzz. Not only was I ranked no 1 throughout Ireland but also throughout the UK.

Throughout these years I also represented Ireland and N.Ireland at international tournaments and contests around the world. This gained me valuable experience as I was competing against some of the best fighters around the world. It also gave me the oppertunity to travel the world and to experience differnt cultures.

I did have my fair share of success on the international scene, winning many medals and contests for my country. Some of which included a gold medal at the European Union Junior Championships and silver at the Commonwealth Championships.

Throughout my younger days of boxing I really only considered boxing a hobby which I enjoyed and was good at. I didn't ever really imagine making a career out of it. Thats why I stayed at school and went on to university to gain a B(sc) Degree in Business, Finance and Investment. However, with this completed and oppertunities arriving, I decided to give professional boxing a go.

I signed for John Rooney Jr and made my debut in 2004 and have currently racked up 8 straight victories, so things couldn't have started much better for me.
These wins have earned me a shot at the IBF World Youth title later this year, which I aim to grab with both hands.
